My busy month!

Woosh! Another busy week passed. Was attending a meeting with my manager and the top management which I thought my presence is not needed but my AD wanted us to be there. Probably so cos the materials and statistics were collated and prepared by me. And he needed to rely on someone who can find him the materials in the shortest time in case anyone demands to have a look at it. My manager even give up his seat for me and ask me sit next to the AD cos he dun really know what is the whole story about, and even offered to help me disseminating some materials to the Heads like as if we have switched roles. I thought I should be the one doing all these??! Nevertheless, my manager is a quite an open person whom I believe do not mind much about status quo and see that we really work as a team, all of us are at the same eye level. You get what I mean? That is why I like working in this dept. Tho work load is more, responsibility has also gone up, expectations too, and I am tired and stress out that my eczema is returning again, but hmmm...things are still under control.

Anyway, throughout the whole meeting, there were many questions arrowed directly at my AD and I experienced for the first time how the top management skillfully answer and instead of admitting “it’s my fault”, he said “it’s an (not mine!) oversight” and how the other Heads demanded email proofs, leaving no rooms for him to excuse himself to admitting the (his) oversight. There were some harmless jokes though and hidden agenda and some politics within the conference room.

Throughout the 2 hrs meeting, I see a wide difference from those I previously attended. Those I attended, most of us just keep quiet, afraid to question, afraid to voice out opinions, afraid to let our views be heard. But this one, a meeting you will see that they are seriously there for discussions and opinions and make themselves heard, aint afraid to express their views nor displeasure, and how my chairman controlled the situation and bringing the group back to the agenda and ended the meeting smoothly.

Then I attended an event on Friday till 8 plus before dragging my tired feet back home. July was indeed a very busy month for me. From 03 Jul – attending briefings, 04 Jul – meeting, 08 to 10 Jul – event, 17 Jul – briefing, 22 Jul – meeting, 26 July – event, 30 Jul – meeting.

And nowadays I look forward to my weekends so much so that I wanna be out from the house even if I have got nothing much to do when I’m out. Saturday I went for my appointment then had a mini window shopping before rushing off to meeting Ding Dang who last min informed that he will be reaching in 10mins time. @!#$$%$%! I hold the phone in one hand, and the clothings in my other hand, and stare at the long queue outside the fitting room. It was a decision to be made in the nick of time. Him? Or Shopping? In the end, I reluctantly put back all the clothings and hurriedly made my way.

Sunday was my free and easy day: SHOPPING! As usual, the mall is infested with humans but my mood seems not affected at all probably cos I was so deprived from doing much shopping on sat. And came Monday back at work, slogging away before going for a 2 days course. How I wish my long awaited break will be here any sooner. :(

Oh yes! I will be going on a solo trip, just a short one to a place I have been a couple of times. But will be my first solo trip and hope I got things to share again when I return. I just need some personal space, a trip meant for me, thats all.

Till then!
