My solo trip!

Hey am back! Went for a solo trip to Bintan and it was actually my 1st trip traveling alone. Actually never thought too much when I booked the accommodation and manage to get my seaview resort, until later, I heard that the mth that I am traveling will be on the 7th mth. Well..really didnt expected it to coincide with the 7th mth and since have already paid for the trip, I went ahead.

The morning came. Mum came into my room and told me that she dreamt of something bad that will happen to me and asked me not to go. I was very much pissed off it that idea cos I have already gotten everything packed and so looking forward to this trip. Sis suggested that she can checked me in into a local sentosa resort if I want, but that will not serve the purpose anymore....

Hours passed by and finally, I simmer down and managed to called up the resort. They say it will still be charged in full if I no show. I told mum about my situation and promised will call back as and when possible and promised will stay away from the mud and sea.

Sigh..the little hiccups do affected me a little..but then again..thinking about the bigger picture, I hailed a cab last min and went off to the terminal. I learnt to check in, check my docs carefully and in fact, there is nothing much to worry about becos I have been to Bintan every year except that this is the 1st time am going alone. The security officer at the gateway somehow knew I am traveling alone and tried to chat a little up with me, asking me about the print on my tee and if I am traveling alone and to where etc. I nod my head and smiled and went off after I am cleared. After checking in while waiting to board, I bought a bowl of mee siam and ate it to fill my stomach. Among the travellers, many were the ang mohs, the sg, and from HK, Jap and korea. Pple do take a second look at me, seeing why I am sitting alone, walking alone.

The ferry took about 1 hr. Land transfer about 20 mins. Checking in took lesser than 10mins. I got my keys and head off straight to put down my barangs. The scenic there never change much, except that the maintainance works were not that up to standard. TV reception was pretty bad. HBO and discover channels were available but the reception was so bad and movies repeated. There is nothing to watch except channel 8 which accompanied me thru the quiet night. The lights in my room were on through out 24 hrly. And the aroma incense have to be lit almost every two hours to ware of the strong painting smell.

Besides the little discounts of the accommodation, the bonus was the bright sunny day the next morning. There was basically nothing much to do except to spot the beautiful things and sights. I had my little sun bathing under the scorching yolk, before walking barefooted on the sandy beach, letting the heated grains warm my foot bed. I have not been feeling so carefree for a long time. No one will cares if you walk about in bikini. I walked from my resort to another two nearby ones and took some pictures there too before deciding to head back for a quick shower and ordered my room service.

Food was a minus point becos even though they have a variety of western to chinese to indo food, but almost all taste and look like indo food. The staff were not as attentive as they used to be, and their standard of understanding english seem to have dropped too. But then again, these were pretty much small issues after I look thru the beautiful shots I took. Thanks to the good weather.

The hardest time is during the sleeping hours. I make sure I finish bathing before the sun sets. I make sure all the lights were on and so was the tv. I dozed off and woke up as and when. I make sure the bed next to me is fully occupied with my belongings. The slightest knocking sound will freeze my spine.

I smsed sis and ding dang the next day saying I miss home. Both gave me almost the same reply "hahahahaha...itchy backside".

Sigh....I do agree I am. but then again, the greatest reward I got was the experience which money cannot buy, and the beautiful shots I took.

Next trip am hopping to go cameron or langkawi..start from small and aim big. ;)

Some of the pictures taken (all pics were resized for easy uploading):

Upon returning sg, I met up with Ah fu for dinner and cant wait to share with him my trip. Coincidentally he also just returned sg from his business trip and got me something which...er..........nice....... lol!!!! Well Ah fu also share quite a number of experiences while he was in Africa, and the cactus pics he showed me was WOW! So nice and BIG!!!!! Now I feel those selling in singapore looks so malnourish.

(my necklace which maybe Ah Fu has put a curse on to make me scolds/disturbs/irritates him lesser after wearing it, and can only take effect after taking a pic of it.)
