A long tiring day....

It was a tiring day today. My second day of waking up at 5:30am.

Setting off at 6am, we made our way to the temple. I doze off in the car. The temple was not very crowded though. Had a little disagreement with a grumpy old lady but nah! she is got going to ruin my day.

We had a nice vegetarian breakfast at the coffee shop. After that, we head home. It was already 9am. Rested awhile, and off we went to meet up with my uncles at his aljunied bakery shop. Again, I was dozing off.

By the time we reach, it was 11:30am. The sun was scorching hot. The cold wind blew occasionally. The soya bean curd helps to quench my thirst and hunger. The statue collection are still lying at a corner, his fav seat is no longer there. Many things reminds me of his presence.

Some changes to the surroundings were pretty obvious. The or-tah shop is not around anymore, the upper storey has became a hostel, a new bbq supplier shop is opened just a few shops away. Other than that, everything has aged alot, alot.

After everyone has gathered, we head off to tanah merah temple for making offerings my great grandmother and father and grandma and grandpa (all mother's side). This is a special temple which is built among all the terrace houses. We had ice cream and bread outside the temple under the hot weather. The durian flavor icecream helped to bring down the temperature. After that, we drove to bedok to make offerings to my uncle who passed away last year. The feeling came back again. It seems not long ago when I attended his funeral. Then I thought of his fav seat and the buddha statue collections in the bakery shop. I tell myself, that is life. It is a blessing for him to leave rather than suffering in pain.

Then! Not ended yet, we went to have fish porridge together, hearing the folks chatting and then finally back to my uncle's shop... By the time everything settled, it was already 3 something. We went to my sis's place to r&r abit, I dozed off on the sofa (again). Then we received a call and have to rush back for home at 5:30pm as the renovation worker is coming to do something.

A long tiring day indeed.

Haiz...when will the renovation work be done? I have been sleeping in the living room floor everyday with the lap top and tv as my companion. I miss my bed...
